Trading Range Pattern Explained
Price moves back and forth between clear support and resistance.
What it looks like
Price oscillates between defined support and resistance — breakout direction often follows the prior trend.
Works best with trend and volume context.

How to identify it
- Mark a repeated high zone and a repeated low zone.
- Check for several touches on both sides.
- Watch for a close outside the range to show the next direction.
When the read is wrong
Invalid as a range once price closes outside it and holds there.
Common mistakes
- Treating the middle of the range as meaningful. The edges matter most.
- Calling a breakout on a wick that closes back inside the range.
